UPSC CDS 2 2026 — Selection Process

Selection in UPSC CDS 2 2026 is done in four stages:

Written Examination: Objective type paper held on 13 September 2026. Result declared on 19 October 2026. Shortlisted candidates proceed to SSB Interview.
SSB Interview: Services Selection Board (SSB) interview is conducted at designated selection centres. SSB tests personality, intelligence, and officer-like qualities over multiple days. Call-up instructions are sent to shortlisted candidates separately.
Medical Examination: Candidates who clear SSB are required to pass a medical fitness examination as per the requirements of the respective service (Army, Navy, Air Force).
Final Merit List: Final selection is based on overall merit considering written exam performance, SSB interview marks, medical fitness, and available vacancies.
